Hi Barry,
My mom and I own a small (15 person bar) with a dining room for 30 as well as a pool area. Our last bartender had slowly ruined our evening crowd. Our food is awesome so we are very busy until about 9pm, then it just dies. I have tried a few other bartenders but they did not work either. Now it is back to my mom & I doing it all.
We have tried amazing drink specials ($2drinks from 9-2) etc. We have also tried free pool and darts.
We have a lot of regulars, some new faces for dinners, but not much at night.
I am to the point where I feel like we have done all we could and should just close at 9pm, but we are a bar I want to be busy till 2am...

Any ideas would be amazing!!!

here are my thoughts on your question:

I hope this helps,

A very popular restaurant w/an 20 seat L-shaped bar and a service area at the end for servers lets the 3 bar tenders working any shift roam up & down with no assigned section nor one of the 3 designated for service exclusively.Sometimes the wait is long for servers and bar patrons/customers.Is it not sound business to assign them a section of the bar with responsibility for that area primarily?
Thanks,
Ev Barnes, Grapevine, Texas.

hi barry

We are a small town centre bar in a small town in west yorkshire. Please could you give me some tips on increasing footfall based on the fact we have a wetherspoons round the corner which is competing substansially on price?
