Fear and Panic is not what we need

Counter-terrorism officials in the United States have issued security bulletins to police around the nation about terrorist interest in attacking stadiums, entertainment complexes and hotels — the latest in a flurry of such internal warnings as investigators chase a possible bomb plot in Denver and New York.
Officials have also admitted that they have no specific information regarding entertainment complexes and hotels, so is there really the need to instill fear and panic in a population already abandoning hotels as they watch their costs?
Personally, I don’t see the benefit of such a public warning. I don’t know what this is expected to achieve or how life will be different in any hotel today compared to yesterday before this warning was issued.
Living in a state of fear and panic will not help the economy. Vigilance and awareness of our surroundings should continue but I for one, do not want to walk through airport style metal detectors entering hotels and stadia.
Just my 0.02 cents….
